Our software
engineers lower SmartOutline's memory consumption by 95%!
SmartOutline is by far a unique software application that
utilizes many components that must work together seamlessly to
create a productive experience for managing information. These
components sometimes require huge blocks of memory that may
place stress on your computers resources.
In the past SmartOutline, mainly in part of it's dynamic add-in
model, consumed about 25megs base memory and could ramp up to
100mb while working within large sets of information such as
notes or images. This has long been a thorn that has possibly
degraded the perception of SmartOutline and users felt that the
program was bloated or not well engineered. This was far from
the truth and was not reflective of the power lodged within SmartOutline.
Now, our software engineers have developed a new active memory
management module that cuts wasted memory and yields a clean and
lean SmartOutline. Our clients and trial users get true power of
SmartOutline's unique free-form management tools without any
memory or performance compromise.
Illustration A.
As shown in illustration A, SmartOutline has a low memory usage
of 952k while idle. Previously SmartOutline would have consumed
about 25-41 mb while idle. While the working memory usage ranges
from 8-11 mb, this huge decline in memory consumption will
vastly improve the performance of the application.
